GUWAHATI: Tarun Arora, who plays the villain in Akshay Kumar's Laxmii, originally hails from Assam.

Arora played the villain named MLA Girja Shankar in the film. Earlier, Tarun played an iconic role as Kareena Kapoor's lover in the movie Jab We Met. He has also starred in many South Indian movies and featured in the Assamese movie 'Pal Pal Ure Mon'.

Speaking about his roots, Arora had told Deccan Chronicle, "Circumstances forced me to move out of my native place Assam and my parents felt that Chennai was the safest place to live in."
