GUWAHATI: Ashmita Chaliha has made Assam proud again with her win in the singles title at the All India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament held in Bengaluru. The Assam shuttler beat her opponent Akrashi Kashyap 21-14, 21-10 in the finals to win the title on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Guwahati-girl is ranked 190 in world women’s singles with 11 career wins so far. She has managed to win all her matches till now this year.
Ashmita had earlier won her maiden Senior Badminton title in the finals of Dubai International Challenge where she defeated 6th seed, Korean player, Jeon Jui 21-19, 21-15.
