GUWAHATI: The death of former Prime Minster shook the nation. His vision and ideals inspired people everywhere. With this in mind, the ashes of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be distributed across the nation, including Guwahati.
The ashes of the former PM will arrive today afternoon, Wednesday and will be taken to the State BJP Headquarters at Hengrabari. The BJP has readied the nearby Karbi Yubak Sangha ground as the venue for paying the tributes where the urn will be kept for the night. On Thursday, a procession will start from Hengrabari towards Latashil Field where the ashes will be kept for the public to pay tributes and will later be immersed in river Brahmaputra near Fancy Bazar at around 4 PM.
‘Asthi Kalash Yatras’ will be taken out in all districts of the country and later immersed in the rivers. The procession for the ‘Asthi Kalash’ will allow BJP workers and common public to pay tributes to Vajpayee.
