GUWAHATI: With the harsh sun and rising temperature, animals in the Assam state zoo are being provided with artificial showers and fans to keep them cool this summer.
Aparajita Borbora, public relations officer at the Assam state zoo told G Plus that the zoo authorities are taking adequate measures to ensure that animals remain comfortable inspite of the rising heat.
“When the enclosures for animals were made, at that time we had planted trees there which form a canopy so that they get the shade of the tree,” she informed.

Borbora added that the authorities also keep showering the animals using pipes from time to time.
“Apart from that, we have also installed stand fans in some enclosures for animals including lion and tiger. They are also given water throughout the day,” informed authorities.
