Arnab Maitra Appointed Business Unit Head of NTPC Bongaigaon

 

GUWAHATI: NTPC Bongaigaon, the 750 MW flagship power station of NTPC in Assam, has announced the appointment of Arnab Maitra as its new Business Unit Head, effective January 4, 2025. 

Maitra succeeds Shri Akhilesh Singh, who has been re-assigned to NTPC CGM-OS (Director-Operations Secretariat).

Maitra, a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He joined NTPC as an Executive Trainee in 1989 after graduating in Mechanical Engineering from REC Durgapur. 

Over the years, he has served at several key NTPC power stations, including Farakka, Vindhyachal, Darlipali, and Korba, where he held critical roles in ensuring operational excellence.

Before this appointment, Maitra served as the Head of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) at NTPC Korba, Chhattisgarh, a 2600 MW power station. His tenure was marked by his commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and safety standards.

In his new role at NTPC Bongaigaon, which operates at a capacity of 750 MW (3x250 MW), Maitra will oversee plant operations and spearhead initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability. His extensive training in areas such as disaster management, preventive vigilance, O&M practices, and leadership positions him to lead the plant towards greater milestones.
