An enjoyable vacation at ‘nani ka ghar’

Chiya Sharma

Class 4

Grace Educational Institute

At the beginning of the session, I was a little sad because my friend went to a different school. But after that, I was happy because the new friends I got were very friendly with me. They like my tiffin very much.

I went to many places this year, like Nehru Park, the Science Museum, Accoland, etc., but my favourite is my “Nani-ka-ghar.’’ I spent my summer vacation there and enjoyed it very much.

I also had a lot of fun in school, especially during programmes like Sports Day, Teachers’ Day, and Children’s Day. I participated in many games, like running and musical chairs, and won certificates. I love dancing, and I danced on Teachers’ Day. They appreciated me, and I felt very happy. My mother said we’ll go to more amazing places next year, and I’m very excited about it.

In the year 2024, I had a wonderful time in school. I enjoyed participating in various events and activities that helped me learn and grow. One of the things I loved the most was dancing. I took part in dance events and performed in front of my friends and teachers. It was a great experience.

Another highlight of the year was our visit to the Science Museum. It was a fun and educational experience. We also celebrated many festivals throughout the year.

We made beautiful diyas, rangolis, and decorations for Diwali. And on Children’s Day, we got to play many games in school.

Overall, the year 2024 was an amazing experience for me. I learned new things, made new friends, and had fun. I’m grateful to my teachers.

Coco comes into my life and a new bicycle

Chandra Chetry

Class 7

Grace Educational Institute

Hi, my mother calls me Chandu, and the best gift my mother gave me was a cute dog in November. His name is Coco, and he’s so small and very playful. I like going to school because I have my friends there. I love playing football, and I also won certificates this year. I went to many places with my mom and granny, like Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dima Hasao, and nearby parks and restaurants. I also enjoyed going to my elder granny’s home because she prepares my favourite food every time I go there.

The second best thing is that I got a new bicycle. I ride my cycle to school and anywhere I go. Recently, I went to watch Raax last month with my family. There was a mela, and I bought a toy gun for myself. I’m excited to go to picnics next year.

An unforgettable zoo experience

The best experience of the year for me was our educational trip to the Assam State Zoo. As soon as we got on the school bus, we were filled with joy. We sang songs and had snacks. We saw many animals and bird species that we had never heard of. Right at the end of our tour, we got to play at the park. It was a memorable experience of 2024.

Saying goodbye to 2024 with a picnic

Agastya Chanda

class 6 (c)

Don Bosco School Pan Bazaar

The year 2024 started decently for me, as like every year, we had many family outings, picnics and get-togethers.

The year started with a wonderful visit to Bhutan, we visited many monasteries and entered a few shops in the main town. After returning to Guwahati, I started preparing for my finals, which were held in February. After my finals I enjoyed my days with leisure, and I resumed my cricket coaching. Eventually, time skipped and then me and my family planned a trip to Accoland since it was the beginning of summer season and my sister returned from her Goa excursion. We had a lot of fun there. And the next day I went go-karting.

But gradually the tension of studies started rising because I started my new academic session in April ’24. Class 6 meant more study pressure for me, which ultimately increased my tuition timings, but due to the flyovers that were being constructed near my house, it made my travel time way longer than usual. I had to wait for about an hour to reach my tuition and vice versa for coming back home. After my Unit Test 1, we got our summer break and I had a short trip of 5-6 days to Meghalaya. I successfully gave my half-yearly too and achieved a good result. I kept a balance of my cricket classes with tuition as I had regular cricket matches.

And we ended the year with a picnic trip to Meghalaya (Lum’erpyngngad), and I hope everyone has a great New Year start.

2024: A year of growth, challenges, and hope for 2025

Krishangee Lahkar

Class 6

Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Guwahati

Myself, Krishangee Lahkar/Kuhi. In the past year, 2024, I learned many new ideas and things. But I also faced many problems, like health issues and going down in my studies. In the month of March, we went on a trip to Odisha and Kolkata after 2 years. I learned how to make unity among people, just like the people of Kolkata have unity among themselves. And in the month of October, the Government of India organised an event in the Northeast for schools, where many students from various schools were invited to learn about space and new technology. I also attended, and it was a great event in my life. This year was good for me, but I hope that the coming year, 2025, will be the best year of my life.

Hi, my name is Khyati Lahkar but my relatives and my family calls me Juhi. I learned and saw many new things in 2024. The ending of March in this year was very special to me, because I stepped out of the North East India for the first time. It was the time when my annual exams were finished. I went to Odisha and West Bengal. On my birthday December 15, I went to Balaji Temple and a nearby restaurant. I enjoyed this year a lot and I wish that 2025 will be better than this year and I can learn more new things.
