GUWAHATI: 58-year-old Bapdhan Das, Lat Mandal of Dispur Revenue Circle, has been apprehended in connection with a counterfeit land documents scam on Saturday.
The arrest was made based on the investigation of Cyber Police Station Case No. 12/23, under Sections 120(B), 419, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act.
Additional charges under Sections 409, 468, and 471 of the IPC have also been applied.
Das was taken into custody from BR Phukan Road, Bharalu, under the jurisdiction of Bharalumukh Police Station.
The arrest is a result of the ongoing investigations into the alleged creation and use of counterfeit land documents.
The accused is now in police custody and is expected to be presented before the judicial authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
