GUWAHATI: In a recent incident, a potential mob lynching incident was prevented in Morigaon on January 10, reports stated.
The incident unfolded in Damal village during the early hours today when two youths, allegedly arrived in a stolen vehicle with the intention of stealing the cattles.
Noticing the suspicious activities of the youths, the villagers quickly apprehended them, subjecting them to physical assault.
Immediate action was taken as a resident reportedly informed the police, leading to their immediate intervention, ultimately saving the lives of the alleged thieves, who could have been involved in a mob lynching incident.
The stolen vehicle used in the attempted theft was set ablaze by the irate villagers.
The injured individuals were shifted to the hospital, and are reportedly out of danger.
