The annual cultural festival of IIT Guwahati, Alcheringa, in its 22nd incarnation has been scheduled to take place in the fine winter season of February, from 1st to 4th.
Alcheringa 2018 will witness amazing performances by Bollywood duo Vishal-Shekhar, Australia based EDM group Mashd N Kutcher, Portugal DJ Diego Miranda and Padma Shri Shahid Parvez Khan, to name a few.
Along with the entertainment and live performances, a plethora of events which consists of dance, drama, fashion, sports, literary, fine arts and fine musicwill also be conducted. Some of the most sought after events hosted during Alcheringa are the Rock-o-phonix, the rock band competition; Mr and Ms Alcheringa, the personality contest and Haute Couture, a team based fashion event.
A 2-day long 'The Northeastern Expo' will also be organised to showcase the vibrant exhibition and cultural performances from different parts of the northeast.
Alcheringa, popularly known as "Alcher", is the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. Started in 1996 by a group of students of IIT Guwahati, Alcheringa has quickly established itself as one of the biggest college level cultural events in Asia.
The free entry passes for the fest are available at multiple venues - Brown Creams, Anuradha Cinema Hall, Roodraksh Mall, Central Mall and The Steaming Mug. It is to be noted that no entry will be allowed to IITG campus without the passes and only one pass can be availed against each student ID.
