Air India Express Leaves Guwahati Passengers’ Luggage Behind In Dibrugarh Due to ‘Bad Weather’

The flight, which took off from Dibrugarh at around 1:45 PM and landed in Guwahati at 3:15 PM, left passengers shocked as they discovered that their checked-in baggage had not been transported.

Speaking to GPlus, one of the affected passengers alleged, “We were not informed at all that our luggage wouldn’t be brought to Guwahati. The airline has now told us that our bags will only be available after 24 hours.”

Another passenger, who was scheduled to attend an event, expressed frustration, stating, “All my props and clothes were in my luggage. Now that it has been left behind in Dibrugarh, I have no choice but to cancel my event.”

As per the passengers, Air India Express has attributed the issue to bad weather. However, some passengers have raised concerns over the airline’s decision, claiming that while the luggage of Guwahati-bound passengers was left behind, the baggage of those traveling onward to Delhi was loaded onto the flight.

Talking to GPlus, an official said, "The luggage will be available tomorrow. Because of bad weather and to maintain the passenger and luggage weight ratio, some of the luggage was left back in Dibrugarh."
