GUWAHATI: Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is set to introduce a new subject for the students of classes XI and XII called 'Swadesh Adhyayan'.
Officials informed that the subject will comprise a combination of history as well as geography.
Authorities said that students of the Arts stream will be able to choose it as one of the core subjects. An expert panel was constituted to prepare the textbooks for the subject.
