GUWAHATI: Well known singer from Assam, Angarag Papon Mahanta opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill after Zubeen Garg open letter on social media towards the passing of the bill.
It is to be mentioned that a number of artists joined a rally to protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the city on 9 January which started at 5 pm near Pratima Barua Pandey memorial statue located at Chandmari, Guwahati.

According to a local media house, the singer stated that if the bill becomes an act, our colourful culture will be hampered and we cannot let it happen.
He also supported Zubeen Garg’s open letter posted on Facebook to take serious steps over the Citizenship bill that has been passed in the Lok Sabha.
