AFFDC to provide Rs 50 lakhs to Rima Das for her new film 'Purno Chandra'

GUWAHATI: Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation is set to provide a financial assistance of Rs 50 lakhs to filmmaker Rima Das for her new movie 'Purno Chandra'.

Addressing the media here in Guwahati on June 24, AFFDC chairman Jatin Bora made the announcement. Rima Das was also present on the occasion.

Bora also said that the government of Assam has approved the ‘film subsidiary rules’ to financially help the producers and directors in the state.

The rule has included documentary, short films and animation films within its fold for the first time.

As per the new rule, the government will provide up to Rs 25 lakh to a full-length movie or a child movie.

Depending on the length and other aspects, an animation movie can also receive a maximum subsidy of Rs 25 lakh from the government.
