Recent discussions and surveys have highlighted significant concerns regarding the bus services in Guwahati. A GPlus poll reveals that over 66% of residents are dissatisfied with the current public transportation system, citing issues such as overcrowding, long wait times, and safety concerns.
In response to these challenges, Purvca Foundation has launched an online survey to gather detailed insights into bus usage patterns and preferences among Guwahati residents. This initiative aims to understand the needs and experiences specifically of women, non-binary individuals, people with disabilities, and the elderly.
Key Focus Areas of the Survey:
-Safety and Security: Assessing how safe commuters feel while using bus services.
-Accessibility: Understanding the ease of access for differently-abled individuals and the
elderly.
-Affordability: Evaluating whether bus fares are reasonable and within reach for all economic
groups.
-Convenience: Assessing the ease with which passengers can access and utilize bus services,
including factors like route availability and scheduling.
-Reliability: Determining the consistency and dependability of bus services in adhering to
schedules and meeting passenger expectations.
-Service Quality: Gathering feedback on the overall quality of bus services, including
punctuality and comfort.
