Accoland Amusement Park temporarily shut down by District Administration

GUWAHATI: Accoland Amusement Park has been asked to shut operation until further notice after a detailed inquiry conducted by Ranjit Konwar, ADC, Kamrup (M) regarding the water quality of the water of the pools and its existing infrastructure on 24th July.

"It is evident from the reports that there are lapses on the part of the management of Accoland Amusement Park, Rani, Patgaon causing imminent danger to the health and life of the people, especially the children and the youths coming to the park," the notice issued by the Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner here on July 24 stated.

DC Virendra on July 19 constituted a team to inquire into the functioning of the park following a complaint by a lady from Barpetta acquiring skin disorders after visiting the park.

In the notice, it was mentioned that Mittal, under the Disaster Management Act 2005' had directed the management of Accoland Amusement Park to stop operation of the park with immediate effect until the recommendations of the inquiry reports of the departments concerned are compiled and any other aspect needed for the safety of public life and health is taken care of.

Further, Mittal stated that the operation of Accoland Amusement Park will cause a serious threat to public life and can become an uncharacteristic example of man-made disaster.
