Assam: Third phase of elections records 80.74% voter turnout, Gauhati at 80.20%

GUWAHATI: The voting for third phase of the Lok Sabha elections concluded in Gauhati, Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Dhubri with an average turnout of 80.74% till 7 PM on April 23.

Dhubri recorded the highest turnout out of the four constituencies with 86.94% and second to that was Gauhati with 80.20% voters turnout. While Barpeta and Kokrajhar recorded 78.11% and 77.38% respectively.

It is to be mentioned that voting in few polling booths were delayed because of EVM malfunction, however, the voting was restored after the EVMs were replaced.
