The manifesto, released nationally on April 6, was unveiled in Assam by Congress general secretary in charge of Assam Jitendra Singh, on April 8.

The party vows to repeal any laws deemed to unreasonably restrict these freedoms, ensuring individuals have the autonomy to make their own choices.

The manifesto outlines the INC's commitment to respecting the personal choices of citizens without interference from the government.

This includes the right to choose one's diet, attire, life partner, and place of residence, as well as the freedom to travel within the country without unnecessary restrictions.

According to the document, the Congress party aims to create an environment where individuals are empowered to live according to their own preferences and beliefs. This move is seen as a step towards promoting diversity and inclusivity, while also fostering a more progressive and tolerant society.

Addressing concerns over existing laws that may impede personal freedoms, the INC has promised to review and repeal any legislation that is deemed to unreasonably interfere with individual choices.

As the election campaign heats up, it remains to be seen how the INC's promises regarding personal freedoms will resonate with voters across the nation. With the manifesto now public, all eyes are on the opposition party as they seek to garner support ahead of the polls.
