GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (M) District Task Force on June 12 rescued eight child labourers as part of a drive carried out in the city.
The drive was conducted on the occasion of ‘World Day Against Child Labour’ that is celebrated on June 12 every year.

Following the drive, the Labour Department officials had filed an FIR against the employers of child labourers.
All the rescued labourers shall be produced before Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Guwahati and necessary legal action shall be initiated against the employer after proper age determination of the rescued children.
