GUWAHATI: Actor O Yeong-Su, who featured on the popular Netflix show Squid Game, has been reportedly convicted on charges of sexual misconduct by a South Korean court.
The 78-year-old actor, who has been accused of allegedly touching a woman inappropriately in 2017, has received a sentence of up to eight months in prison by the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court in South Korea, as per reports.

The actor has denied the allegations and will reportedly file an appeal against the ruling, which also directed him to attend a 40-hour sexual offender treatment program, media reports stated.

The victim had first filed the complaint against the actor in December 2021, but the case was closed after four months without the actor being charged. However, the case was reopened in November that year and the actor was charged without detention by the South Korean officials.
O Yeong-su was the first South Korean actor to win a Golden Globe award in 2022 for best supporting actor for his performance in Squid Game.
