7 new ministers take Oath in Assam

The two year old Sarbananda Sonowal government in Assam has expanded today with the induction of 7 new ministers.

"The Cabinet expansion was long overdue. We hope to improve our governance with the induction of the new faces," Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal told the media.

The 7 new ministers took oath in a swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhawan on Thursday, April 26.

The newly appointed ministers are - Phani Bhushan Choudhury, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Chandan Brahma, Sum Ronghang, Bhabesh Kalita, Pijush Hazarika, and Tapan Gogoi.

The expansion of the ministry is expected to strengthen the governance and help in delivering better services to the people of Assam.
