50,000 Yaba Tablets Seized In Silchar

 

GUWAHATI: Acting on confidential information, the Cachar Police executed a targeted anti-narcotics operation in Silchar on November 23. The operation resulted in the apprehension of an individual found in possession of 50,000 YABA tablets, suspected to be trafficked from a neighbouring state.

The suspect is now in custody, and further investigations are underway to unveil the details of the narcotics network involved. The operation marks a significant success in the ongoing efforts against drug trafficking in the region.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Assam Police for their effective action while reiterating that Assam is against drugs. CM Sarma put out a statement on X, which read, “Based on secret inputs, @cacharpolice carried out an anti-narcotics operation in Silchar and held one person with 50,000 YABA tablets, which was being transported from a neighbouring State. The person has been apprehended for further investigation. Good job @assampolice! #AssamAgainstDrugs”

The individual apprehended will now face legal proceedings.
