5-Year-Old From Assam Conferred With Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar

 

GUWAHATI: Assam's Dhritishman Chakraborty has been conferred with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2022 in the category of Art and Culture today, January 24. Dhritishman, a 5-year-old, hails from Sivasagar and can sing in 5 languages. 

This year, the award has been conferred to 29 children across the country for their exceptional achievements in innovation (7), social service (4), scholastic (1), sports (8), art and culture (6) and bravery (3) categories. There are 15 boys and 14 girls among the awardees.

The award function was held virtually keeping the mind the present COVID-19 scenario in the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day today, January 24, and also as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi gave digital certificates to the 61 winners of PMRBP 2021 and 2022. A cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 was given to the awardees of PMRBP 2022, which was transferred online to the respective accounts of winners during the programme.

The awardees along with their parents and concerned District Magistrate of their respective districts joined the event from their district headquarters.
