GUWAHATI: A man identified as Mriganka Saikia, suspected of killing his 7-year-old son, was found dead on Friday, November 8. The body of Saikia, who allegedly strangled his son on Thursday evening, was discovered hanging from the roof of a residence belonging to Nanda Biswas in Borigaon.

The incident occurred in Solengi village of Gohpur, around 7 pm on Thursday. Saikia reportedly smothered his son while the child was asleep, taking advantage of the mother’s absence. Following the incident, Saikia fled the scene , prompting an urgent police search.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Gohpur police station confirmed, saying, “The man who allegedly killed his son was found hanging from the roof of a residence in Borigaon today morning. The motive behind the incident is unclear.”
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading up to these events.
