Coronavirus Update : 5 Assam Districts Declared COVID-19 Hotspots

GUWAHATI: The union health ministry, on Wednesday, April 15 identified five districts in Assam as COVID-19 hotspot districts.

According to reports, Golaghat, Morigaon, Nalbari, Goalpara, and Dhubri are the districts in Assam which have been put in the category of "hotspot districts with cluster" while Cachar, Hailakandi, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Lakhimpur, South Salmara and Karimganj in Assam have been identified as non-hotspot districts.

Further, Lohit in Arunachal Pradesh, East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya, Aizawl in Mizoram, Gomati and North Tripura in Tripura have been categorized as non-hotspot districts reporting cases.

It is to be mentioned that 207 districts in India including those in Assam have been identified by the Centre as COVID-19 hotspot districts with cluster
