GUWAHATI: A 22-year old girl from Nalbari was allegedly drugged and raped by her boyfriend and his friend at a hotel in Guwahati.
The incident took place at the Suncity Hotel in Paltan Bazar on January 1. The boyfriend has been identified as Muhammad Imdadul Islam (24). He is from Chotobozra, Hazirhat in Dhubri.

According to reports, the victim is from Namati Pohati, Nalbari and had come to Guwahati to celebrate New Years with her boyfriend. Upon arriving in the city, they met at the hotel where Islam had booked a room (Number 309) through OYO Rooms. Then later in the evening, Islam’s friend joined them and allegedly spiked the victim’s drink and food with sedatives. Once the victim lost consciousness, the two boys allegedly raped her all night.

When the victim woke up the next morning, she was in shock and found herself alone in the room. She tried to call Islam repeatedly, but he didn’t receive her calls. As a last resort, she filed a case at the Paltan Bazar Police Station.
A search operation to catch the culprits has been launched.
