2008 Serial Blast: NDFB (R) chief Ranjan Daimary given life Imprisonment

GUWAHATI: The special court today pronounced life imprisonment to NDFB (R) chief Ranjan in connection to the 2008 Assam serial blasts case on January 30.

However, the judgment of 14 others who have been convicted is still in progress.

It is to be mentioned that security has been beefed up in the city ahead of the pronouncement of quantum of sentence

On January 28 the special court convicted the chief of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) Ranjan Daimary and 14 others in the 2008 Assam serial bombing case triggered by NDFB on October 30, 2008 in Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon and Barpeta, killing 88 people and leaving more than 500 injured.
