GUWAHATI: Heavy fog conditions on Thursday, January 23 delayed 18 flights at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati. The inclement weather conditions caused challenges for air traffic, prompting airport authorities to take appropriate measures.

Accordingly, LGBIA has deployed additional airport personnel across the terminal to offer support and guidance to stranded passengers. The airport has also arranged extra seating and ensured the availability of drinking water to enhance passenger comfort during the delays, according to a statement.
Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines to check updated flight schedules before heading to the airport.
Guwahati is set to experience continued foggy and misty mornings throughout the week, according to the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre. As per the forecast issued for January 23, and the following days, fog or mist is expected to blanket the city and its surrounding areas during the early hours, with the weather clearing up later in the day.
The day's maximum temperature is expected to reach around 24°C approximately along with a minimum temperature of 14°C, today as of RWFC.
