GUWAHATI: A 17-year-old boy from Lakhimpur succumbed to COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, September 16, becoming one of the youngest victims of the dreaded virus in Assam.
A total of 19 COVID-19 positive patients passed away on Wednesday, taking Assam's death toll to 511.
"My condolences to the bereaved families! Om Shanti," posted state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Twitter.

Wednesday came to a close with the report that 2,394 new people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, taking Assam’s total tally to 1,48,969.
Further, 2,464 persons were discharged from various health care facilities across Assam.
