1409 Passengers Arrive in Guwahati on Day 2 of Domestic Flights Resumption

GUWAHATI: Day 2 of resumption of domestic flight services saw arrival of 1409 passengers in Guwahati. 724 passengers boarded flights and departed from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport.

13 flights that landed and departed from the LGBI airport today carried passengers travelling to and from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Imphal, Chennai and Silchar.

Yesterday, on Day 1 of the resumption of flights, 686 passengers had arrived on 8 flights.

After two months of closure, commercial passenger flights in the country resumed on May 25. 

All essential and mandatory arrangements in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic were in place, from health screening to luggage sanitization of the passengers who were stranded outside the state due to the nationwide lockdown.

Passengers arriving were thoroughly checked for quarantine by the Assam Health Department.

Separate counters were made for screening of arrivals for different districts and states, to be segregated for any possible quarantine.
