GUWAHATI: 11 persons in army uniforms were arrested for unauthorized use of army uniform.
Police party while on patrolling detained four persons in army uniform near MES point, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport on Monday night, and on verification they were found to have been wearing it with an ulterior motive.
Subsequently, all 11 persons disguised in army uniforms were apprehended and interrogated. During interrogation, it was found that one Dhimon Goswami gave them appointment letters of air force security. Dhimon Goswami was also apprehended by the police.
Guwahati police also conducted search at the houses of the accused persons from where they seized few documents, and ID cards etc. A case vide Azara PS (No 691/2020 u/s 140/120(B)/121(A)/260/262/419/468/471 IPC) has been registered and the investigation of the case is continuing.
