GUWAHATI: All Assam Students’ Union's (AASU) Advisor, Samujjal Bhattacharya along with the artiste fraternity headed by Zubeen Garg came together in a protest under the appellation ‘Ranasinga’ (war bugle) against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
It is to be mentioned that the people from across the state poured out onto the streets of Guwahati to express their resentment against the CAA.
Several noted artists and intellectuals from different spheres of life also took part in the event held at Gauhati Club Rotary.
In the protest Zubeen Garg said, " I thank each and everyone for joining today. We did a musical protest today and we will continue to do so in the coming days to protest against CAA."
"We all should stand united. Joi Aai Axom," he added.
Meanwhile, Samujjal Bhattacharya said that CAA violates the Assam Accord which seeks to give citizenship to Bangladeshi nationals.
