Youths Aged 21 and 24 Succumb to COVID-19 in Assam

GUWAHATI: Two youths from Assam have succumbed to COVID-19 infections on Friday, September 11. The 21-year-old named Tapu Nath belonged to Karimganj while the 24-year-old Priyanka Upadhyay belonged to Dibrugarh. 


A total of 16 COVID-19 positive patients passed away on Friday, taking Assam's death toll to 430.


"I send my deepest condolences and prayers to all bereaved families," posted state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Twitter. 


Friday came to a close with the report that 2,534 new people testing positive for COVID-19 in the state, taking the total tally to 1,38,339.


Further, with 2,628 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 29,577 while 1,08,329 persons have been cured of the virus.
