Youth From Assam Creates Digital Payment App

GUWAHATI: Google Pay or PhonePe are unofficially passe now as a young enterprising boy hailing from Sialmari-Koupati village at Dalgaon town in Darrang district of Assam has grabbed headlines and gained subsequent digital traction following his curation and development of an application.

The youth, Mustafizur Rahman who had earlier developed the Assam Pay app in three month’s time has this time around added another feat to his repertoire after his digital brainchild received recognition from the State Government. The Assam Pay has gained the certification from the government’s Bharat Bill Payment System.

The app developer, Mustafizur Rahman speaking to the media said that the users of the Assam Pay app will be able to book a flight ticket or for that matter, make a UPI transaction on the app in the near future.

“The Assam Pay app is a recharge app and users can avail a commission of up to 5% by making use of the app for their mobile bill payments,” said Mustafizur.

This may be recalled that Mustafizur had earlier created TikMik, a digital doppelganger or alternative to the TikTok platform in 2020.

Speaking to the media, the app developer from Dalgaon allayed digital security concerns regarding the app and informed that this is the first of its kind application from Assam and the Northeast region to have received certification from the Bharat Bill Payment System which is under the aegis of the government’s National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

This may be mentioned that NPCI is a government-backed umbrella organisation that facilitates services like UPI Payments, Bharat Bill Pay, RuPay Card, and FASTag etc.
