“China would not dare to take a step inside our territory ...we would have evicted and thrown out China and it would not have taken 15 minutes to do so”, said Rahul Gandhi on 6th October as he attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Indo-China border standoff.
He further claimed that Chinese soldiers would not have "dared to enter the country and kill our soldiers" if Congress was in power. The neighbouring country did so as Modi has "weakened" the country. This was said by the former Congress president while addressing a public gathering at Pehowa, as part of his 'Kheti Bachao Yatra’.
“There is only one nation in the entire world whose land has been usurped and that is India and they call themselves patriots. The prime minister calls himself ‘desh bhakt’ (patriot) and the whole country knows that China’s forces are inside our territory, what kind of patriot is he?” said Rahul Gandhi.
The Indo-China border standoff has been continuing for the last five months. The Congress' claim that China had occupied Indian territory in the eastern Ladakh region was earlier deemed as 'mischievous interpretation' by the government.
