Some serious questions come to the fore concerning safety-related loopholes for workers at factories following the latest tragedy which struck the concrete factory at Assam’s Dima Hasao.

This needs to be mentioned that, it was in October this year that a worker was seriously injured while working at a factory situated in the Fatemabad tea estate in the Baksa district of Assam.

Earlier this year in July, a female worker got injured while she was working at Lepetkatta tea garden in the Dibrugarh district in Assam.

Besides these unfortunate series of incidents, three employees of the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) were killed in a turbine explosion at its Khandang hydropower project in the Dima Hasao district of Assam earlier this year in March.
