GUWAHATI: Railway Police Force (RPF) and Assam Police in a joint search operation apprehended five women for carrying Ganja via train (Chandigarh Express) from Guwahati Railway Station on 23rd July.
The women have been identified as Mahira Bewa, Mafruza Bewa, Sagar Banu Bewa, Ajama Khatun and Mumtaj Bibi.
A total of 20 kilograms of Ganja were recovered from the possession of these women.
During the preliminary inquiry, it came to light that the apprehended were carrying the cannabis from Dimapur and were expected to deliver in Malda.
In this regard, GRP has registered a case No. 203/18 U/S 20(B) under the NDPS Act.
