The deceased has been identified as Jimli Saikia, a resident of Chandmari. She was riding pillion on a two-wheeler being driven by her husband when the tragic incident occurred.
According to a traffic official from Panbazar police station, the accident took place at approximately 10:30 AM. “The incident occurred at around 10:30 AM. According to initial reports, she fell off the scooter and was knocked by a passenger vehicle,” the official told GPlus.
Saikia was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
Further details regarding the identity of the driver and the vehicle involved are awaited as the investigation continues.
