Wine Shops in Meghalaya to Remain Open from April 13

GUWAHATI: Assam's neighboring state of Meghalaya is all set to open the liquor shops from April 13.

According to a notification, wine shops will remain open in Meghalaya from Monday to Friday (April 17) from morning 9 am to afternoon 4 pm.

The order further stated that only one person per household will be allowed to visit wine shop for the purchase and the movement from one locality to another shall be prohibited.

The wine shops should be made personally responsible by deploying their staff to ensure maintaining Social Distancing of at least 1 (one) metre between customers, cough etiquette and to strictly follow all directives issued by Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Meghalaya with reference to COVID-19 situation. 

0nly one person per household is allowed to visit the wine shop for purchase and the thovothenf from one locality/village to another locality/village shall be prohibited. 

Wine shops may work with bare minimum staff and provide hand sandizers to customers and staff while handling the bottles and cash. 

The notification also stated that to strictly avoid overcrowding, staff of a particular wine shop may direct the customers to other nearby wine shops within the same locality/village.
