Wild Elephant Rampage In Kaliabor Kills Two 

 

GUWAHATI: A herd of wild elephants went on a rampage in Kaliabor and killed two individuals, on December 6. 

According to media information, the incident occurred near Hatigaon Bagan in Kaliabor, situated within the Nagaon wherein a herd of wild elephants reportedly strayed from their natural habitat, causing significant damage to paddy fields and resulting in substantial losses for local farmers. 

In an attempt to drive the elephants away from the fields, a group of residents took action. Unfortunately, instead of retreating, the elephants became agitated by these efforts and charged towards the people.

According to reports, two individuals lost their lives in the ensuing attack, identified as Biren Lohar and Sama Munda. 

Both victims hailed from the Salkona Basti in the Hatigaon Bagan region in Kaliabor. Further details regarding the incident are awaited as the situation unfolds.
