In a recent episode of Guwahati Connection, a podcast series by GPlus, Kumud Mishra discussed his artistic journey, from being hailed as 'God' by renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali to his love for biking, travel and much more.
When interviewer, Sidharth Bedi Varma, pointed out that Imtiaz Ali allegedly regards Kumud Mishra as God and asked about their relationship, Mishra said, "firstly I'm an atheist, so i don't place much importance on that; instead on the love for each other. He said that as a joke during an interview." He added, "He's a very simple man. And there are a few people with who i like staying around. However, there are a very few of them because i am a quite shy person so i don't often get along with people. I like being in my world. When I work, I meet my colleagues. Otherwise, I'm not very social so I meet them rarely. Among those I enjoy being with, he [Imtiaz Ali] is special. He has a calming influence.”
When asked about his world, Mishra stated, "My world includes my books, my son, wife, and my large joint family. It also involves my friends; some I bike with and others from my drama school whom I don't see often but are very close to me. Primarily, my world is theatre and the people involved in that world". He further added, "Cinema is part of my world, but only when I'm actively working in it. Otherwise, I transition into another world."
