GUWAHATI: Renowned travel video blogger Nas Daily featured ‘Forest Man of India’, Jadav Payeng in his recent video which was published on Monday, November 11.
Hailing from Jorhat, Payeng is famous for his immense contribution to environment, setting an example that one man with a will can bring a change.
In the video, Nas Daily shows how Payeng made the difference in 40 years and planted a forest with his bare hands.
“It took me a lot of effort to find this guy. I had to cross oceans and drive to the middle of nowhere and walk in the middle of a swamp just to share his simple message with you”, said Nas Daily.
Payeng was honoured with the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian award in 2015.
Over the course of several decades he has planted and tendered trees on a sandbar of the river Brahmaputra turning it into a forest reserve.
Nas Daily runs a facebook page going by the same name where he posts short videos about the world. His page has over 6 million followers.
