Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga fired back recently at Adil Hussain following the latter's criticism of the film Kabir Singh. Adil, known for his role as the Dean of the college in the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer, expressed regret over his involvement in the movie, talking in a popular podcast. His remarks gained widespread attention, prompting Sandeep to lash out at him on social media platform X.
In his retort, Sandeep made a remark directed at Adil, highlighting that his participation in '20 art films' didn't garner as much recognition as the blockbuster film Kabir Singh. Sandeep further stated his intention to replace Adil's face in the film using AI technology.
During an appearance on the AP Podcast, Adil expressed his remorse over his decision to star in Kabir Singh. He admitted to accepting the role without fully understanding the film's premise. "That’s the only film in my life that I have done without reading the script, without seeing the movie which it is based on," he remarked. Adil recounted his experience of watching the film in the theater and leaving after just 20 minutes. He criticized Kabir Singh as a 'misogynist' film and stated that he would not recommend it, even to his wife.
Also, recently in a conversation with GPlus in a video interview, Adil Hussain said that he does not consider RRR a great film.
He said, “Films like RRR are entertaining but it is not a great film. I would rather watch Village Rockstar than RRR. I would go to a cinema hall to watch Village Rockstars and wait for RRR to come to Netflix. It depends on what is your orientation of a great film.”
