WATCH: Indian Army Dog Phantom Killed in Jammu Anti-Terror Operation

GUWAHATI: A four-year-old Indian Army dog, Phantom, was fatally shot by terrorists during a fierce encounter in Jammu’s Akhnoor sector on Monday, October 28.

Phantom was a male Belgian Malinois and trained assault dog, and he had been serving with his unit since August 2022 after graduating from the Remount Veterinary Corps in Meerut.




Phantom’s bravery was highlighted by the White Knight Corps, which stated, “We salute the supreme sacrifice of our true hero.”

As the Army troops closed in on the trapped terrorists, Phantom advanced, drawing enemy fire and sustaining fatal injuries, allowing soldiers to neutralise one terrorist and recover warlike stores.

Phantom’s courage, loyalty, and dedication left a lasting impact on his unit and the Army, which vowed that his sacrifice would not be forgotten.

Born on May 25, 2020, the military-service dog exemplified the selfless spirit of service, laying down his life in the line of duty.
