Guwahati's esteemed English Weekly newspaper and premier digital portal, GPlus, is ready to unveil the 9th edition of the Guwahati Food Awards, scheduled for January 27, 2024, at the Vivanta, Guwahati.
This extraordinary event continues its tradition of celebrating the gastronomic treasures that Guwahati offers in the rapidly evolving culinary landscape of the region. Serving as a unique platform, it welcomes both established and emerging players to showcase their prowess in the industry to the public.
Food enthusiasts are invited to participate in this exciting journey by participating in the voting process for their favourite restaurants across various categories. The public is invited to actively vote for their favourite restaurants using the GPlus App, available for free on Google Playstore and App Store.

This year, the Guwahati Food Awards has garnered an impressive 150+ nominations across 32 award categories from over 60 enterprises, covering the entire spectrum of the city's vibrant food service.
The shortlisted restaurants under each category, determined by public voting, will undergo scrutiny by esteemed jury members. Their evaluations, considering various parameters, will contribute to the cumulative scores. The top winners in each category will be honoured for their exceptional quality and service on January 27, 2024, at Vivanta, Guwahati.
Adding to the culinary excitement, GPlus also hosted the first edition of the Home Chef of the Year 2023 which saw the participation of over 15 people at Hotel Palacio where participants prepared their dishes in under 60 mins. The jury comprising of Aabhishek Bedi Varma (Chef and Restaurateur), Sumant Dhadwal (Head Chef, Vivanta, Guwahati), Arup Das (Head Chef, Hotel Palacio) and Amit Bakshi (General Manager, Hotel Palacio) taste-tested the prepared items and scored the participants. The top three scorers of the Home Chef of the Year 2023 will be invited to the gala award night at Vivanta, Guwahati where the winner will be announced.
GPlus also hosted the 6th Edition of the Great Guwahati Bake Off at Botanee restaurant, Lachit Nagar which provides an excellent opportunity for bakers in Guwahati to vie for the prestigious title of Home Baker of the Year. The Great Guwahati Bake Off is supported by Purabi Dairy and the top three scorers of the Home Baker of the Year 2023 will be invited to the gala award night at Vivanta, Guwahati where the winner will be announced.
