Vivanta Guwahati to be used as Quarantine Centre for Nurses and Doctors

GUWAHATI: Starting from 6th April, doctors and nurses of GMCH, MMCH and Sonapur Civil Hospital will be provided quarantine facilities at the Vivanta hotel in Guwahati.


All doctors that were on duty for 7 days will go into quarantine for 14 days, and so will the nurses and cleaning staff, informed state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He added that the state government will bear all costs of the stay. 

While PM Modi had announced an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakhs to each health worker, the state government will provide the same insurance cover to 108 and 104 staff as well. 

Further, Asha workers will get honorarium of Rs 1000/month for the next three months.
