Visitors at Assam State Zoo can now avail guide facility. The initiative has been taken by District Forest Officer Tejas Mariswamy.
Speaking on the initiative, Mariswamy said, "The main aim of the initiative is to create environmental awareness about wildlife conservation, and its importance to sustain a healthy ecosystem."
The guides will not only help the tourists in taking tour of the zoo, but will also explain significance of the biodiversity inside the zoo campus.

Currently, five guides are deployed in the zoo.
The rates for availing the guide will depend on the group size. For a group of five, the amount is Rs 150.
