GUWAHATI: Upper Assam is going to polls today, April 11. People from five constituencies in the state- Tezpur, Kalibor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur will head out to cast their votes, but not the residents of Chinatoli village in Jorhat constituency.
Based on a report by Scroll.in, they are boycotting the elections as they never got a road leading up to their village.

A local from the village said that both BJP and Congress have come to power in their constituency in the past years, but neither of them have been able to provide a road for the village and thus, they do not want to vote as it does them no good.
Chinatoli village falls in the Mariani Assembly constituency.
