GUWAHATI: There has been a video making rounds on social media of an unattended luggage scanner at Kamakhya Junction Railway Station which passengers use to get their luggage checked.

The video claims to be of the Kamakhya Junction Railway Station and netizens have been reacting very strongly to it with people pointing out that this was a case of sheer negligence on the part of the authorities.

However, while speaking to G Plus, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Sabyasachi De said that the video was misleading as it was only around a minute long and the person responsible for checking the monitors was in the next room attending to something else.

“The video is of the Kamakhya Junction Railway Station. The bifurcation between the monitor and the lady that was asking the passengers to put their luggage through the scanners has a window. She could check the monitors through that window. The person responsible for checking the monitors was just away for a couple of minutes. The video was taken at the wrong moment and is misleading,” the CPRO told G Plus.
