GUWAHATI: Veteran actor Viju Khote, known for his roles in films such as ‘Sholay’ and ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, died at his residence in Mumbai on Monday.
According to reports, Khote (77) passed away in his sleep and he was suffering from multiple organ failure since some time.
It is to be mentioned that he is credited with having starred in over 300 films across Hindi and Marathi cinema.
Some of his most remembered roles include dacoit 'Kalia' in Sholay, who was second in command to Amjad Khan's Gabbar and 'Robert' in Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's starrer Andaz Apna Apna.
Expressing his grief, Veteran Actor Rishi Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and stated, "RIP. Viju Khote. Dear friend over the years. Though many elders,we used to bike together along with sister Shobha Khote ji, when I was young. Passionate and well informed about American films. We will miss you” Viju kutte aahe?"
