GUWAHATI: A United States military aircraft carrying 205 deported Indian immigrants landed at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport on Wednesday, February 5. The flight, which was initially expected to arrive in the morning, faced a delay before finally touching down later in the day.

According to reports, the deportees belong to various states, including Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the security at the airport was increased. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had taken place to ensure the deportees were received in a cordial manner. Assistance counters were set up at the airport to provide necessary support.
Mann assured that all possible help would be extended to the deported individuals as they reintegrate into their home country.
The deportation comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Washington, scheduled on February 12.
